Job summary

The Office of Labor Relations seeks an EAP Counselor to support the NYC Employee Assistance Program, delivering mental health counseling and creating group/workshop materials for staff and clients. Some onsite work with possible remote days will be available, and onsite resources may be provided at partner facilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health field (e.g., social work, mental health counselor).
• NY State Licensure or limited permit.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday with evening hours (two 11 AM–7 PM shifts); remote workdays available after acclimation.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to clients including intakes, assessments and treatment planning, with case management and follow-up.
• Interface with insurance carriers and treatment providers to maximize benefits and protect confidentiality.
• Interface with agency units to ensure accountability and report on compliance in disciplinary cases.
• Create and maintain confidential case records.
• Provide supervision and organizational consultation on employee management issues.
• Participate in clinical and administrative meetings and in-service training.
• Develop and update information on community resources.
• Contribute to outreach program development and delivery.
