Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselor to assess clients, set counseling goals, provide short-term counseling, and refer when needed.

The role includes liaison work with employers and HR, delivering presentations, orientations, and consulting with management. Full-time schedule is 40 hours per week, with occasional evenings and call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field is required.
• Current professional licensure in the state of practice is required to provide counseling.
• 3 years of experience in EAP-related service is preferred.
• CEAP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments with EAP clients, formulates counseling goals and provides counseling or referrals as needed.
• Provides short-term counseling for clients not requiring extensive treatment.
• Follows up with clients to evaluate continuity and effectiveness of outside services if referred.
• Acts as liaison between client, employer/HR, and outside referrals for mandated referrals or drug positives as per policy.
• Delivers presentations to aid employees in coping with identified problems or issues.
• Provides orientations to employees and management for internal and external clients.
