Job summary

Foundation Communities is seeking a Transition Assistant Property Manager in Austin, TX. This role provides temporary management coverage across multiple Foundation Communities properties, assisting with leasing, applications, and day-to-day operations while supporting property teams and leadership.

You will train staff, coordinate with maintenance, and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth transitions and resident service excellence across communities.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of multifamily property management, assistant management, leasing, or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of apartment operations, leasing, resident services, and administrative processes.
• Ability to assess changing situations, establish priorities, manage multiple deadlines, and follow work through to completion.
• Strong judgment, organization, communication, computer, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide temporary management and operational support during staffing vacancies, absences, transitions, and other periods of increased need.
• Assess property needs, establish priorities, organize outstanding work, and communicate progress to leadership.
• Support daily property operations, including leasing, applications, renewals, transfers, waitlists, move-ins, and administrative backlogs.
• Assist with prospect follow-up, tours, occupancy efforts, resident accounts, and required documentation.
• Prioritize vacant-unit turns and ensure move-in readiness with managers and maintenance teams.
• Support lease-ups, inspections, staffing transitions, and property stabilization.
• Provide onboarding and training on procedures, systems, and daily responsibilities.
• Reinforce expectations for resident service, teamwork, professionalism, and compliance.
