Job summary

Episcopal Children's Services, Inc. seeks a Substitute Lead/Assistant Teacher to support daily operations in an early childhood center within the Head Start program.

You will help implement learning activities, supervise children, and ensure a warm, safe environment that fosters growth. Under the Center Manager, you will collaborate with staff and families, follow approved curricula, participate in trainings, and support health, safety, and development standards to promote ready-to-learn

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to provide nurturing teacher-child interactions and support learning.
• Ability to follow approved curriculum and assist with assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead/Assistant Teacher coverage when regular teacher is absent.
• Familiarize with day’s activities and support planned learning.
• Assist with developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive activities.
• Provide warm, nurturing environment and uphold ECS Discipline Policy.
• Build nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain compliance with Head Start and ECS requirements.
• Assist in kitchen and/or cleaning duties as assigned.
• Communicate with families and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
