Job summary

La Lucha at Rocket Farm Restaurants in Houston, TX is seeking a high-energy Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. You will manage hourly back-of-house staff and assist in day-to-day kitchen operations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years progressive culinary experience, including a lead cook or Sous Chef role, and demonstrates leadership under pressure. Competitive salary of $55,000–$70,000 per year, DOE, plus bonus and full benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressive culinary experience preferred, including a Lead Cook or Sous Chef role.
• Strong leadership, hiring, and delegation skills in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to maintain quality and presentation across multiple stations.

Responsibilities

• The Sous Chef manages hourly back-of-house staff and assists in day-to-day kitchen operations including production, prep, events, stewarding, purchasing and receiving.
• Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef and maintain cohesive, calm leadership under pressure.
