Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, following the plan of care and adjusting treatment as needed. The role includes teaching patients and families, documenting thoroughly, and participating in quality initiatives.

A sign-on bonus is available: $1,500 for new grads or $2,500 for candidates with 1+ years of experience, plus relocation assistance for moving 50+ miles.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (IDFPR) in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Board Eligible/Required to complete board exam on next available date and complete required continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response only after documenting communication with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation per the Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67).
• Completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements, if applicable.
• Follows the planned treatment by PT and provides interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR; coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions.
• Communicates progress and treatment recommendations with referring providers.
