Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to provide rehabilitation services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in Sierra Vista, AZ. The role involves implementing treatment plans, guiding exercises, and helping patients improve mobility, balance, and independence.

You will monitor progress, document sessions in the EMR, and collaborate with a care team to ensure patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Active PTA license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent PTA experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, stretching, strengthening, gait training, and balance activities.
• Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and use of assistive devices.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and report changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility, safety, and home programs.
• Maintain a safe and organized treatment environment.
• Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the EMR.
• Participate in patient care planning and interdisciplinary communication.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
