Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in delivering comprehensive patient care. The PTA will educate patients and families, implement treatment plans, and document progress according to policy.

Role includes therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy, with close collaboration with the PT and referring providers.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant as required for PTA licensure.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Illinois or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response with documentation of communication.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Completes annual education to comply with program requirements as applicable.
• Provides therapeutic interventions including exercises, gait training, balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions and communicates progress to referring provider.
