Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care under a PT's supervision and to serve as a clinical resource for staff and students.

You will educate patients and families, document communications, and perform therapeutic interventions including gait and balance training, aquatic therapy, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation, with daily EMR entries.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Board-eligible and committed to completing board exam with ongoing CEUs for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows therapist's plan of care; adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence, after consulting with evaluating therapist and documenting the communication in the daily note.
• Produces documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67) and completes annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement requirements, if applicable.
• Follows treatment plan of care; provides therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound.
• Administers electrical stimulation; provides aquatic therapy when appropriate.
• Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR; coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions.
• Communicates progress and recommendations to referring providers.
