Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care provided by the physical therapist, serving patients of all ages and acting as a clinical resource for staff and students.

You will educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health care providers; follow the therapist’s plan of care; document communications and daily notes; and deliver treatments such as therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation,

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required for PTA licensure.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant per state regulation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days required.
• Board Eligible and must complete board exam when available; continue ed for acute stroke patients.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients, families, caregivers, students and health care teams using effective teaching methods.
• Follow the therapist's plan of care and adjust treatment based on patient response with documented communication.
• Produce daily documentation and comply with Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Complete annual education to meet program requirements where applicable.
• Perform treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Coordinate with PT on patient treatment and communicate progress to referring providers.
