Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients of all ages. The role follows the plan of care set by the physical therapist, adapts treatment based on response, and documents communications and outcomes in the patient record.

Responsibilities include therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy, with daily EMR documentation and coordination with the PT. BLS and state PTA licensure compliance required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) per IDFPR
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days per AHA
• Board Eligible/Required to complete board exam on next available date and complete required continuing education for acute stroke care

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence after communicating with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67).
• If applicable, completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
• Follows treatment plan of care established by PT and provides interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound.
• Administers electrical stimulation and aquatic therapy; completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR.
• Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions and communicates progress to referring provider.
