Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care under the supervision of a physical therapist. The role involves educating patients and families, following the plan of care, and documenting progress in the EMR.

The PTA may perform therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy in coordination with the PT.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) preferred; IDFPR license or eligibility.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Board Eligible/Required to complete board exam on next available date; participate in continuing education regarding acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students and other health care staff using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adjusts the plan of care after communicating with the evaluating therapist and documenting in the daily note.
• Completes documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy CTSCP67.
• Participates in annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
• Performs department duties: administers therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy; documents and coordinates with PT.
