Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a passionate Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care across age groups in a dynamic clinical setting. The role focuses on implementing the plan of care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and serving as a clinical resource for staff and students.

This position includes a sign-on bonus and requires collaboration with therapists, nursing teams, and families to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed PTA (IDFPR) in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days (AHA).
• Board exam to be completed on next available date.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, and caregivers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy and daily notes.
• Implements intervention plans according to the treatment plan established by the PT.
• Communicates with supervising OT when patient status changes or discharge planning is needed.
