Job summary

Carle Health seeks a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant to implement the plan of care under supervision of the physical therapist. This role treats patients of all ages and serves as a clinical resource for staff and students.

Education required is an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant with licensure as a PTA. BLS within 30 days and ongoing continuing education are expected to meet program requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Board eligible / must complete board exam at next available date and maintain ongoing CEU compliance.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence after communicating with the evaluating therapist.
• Documents per policy and completes annual education for program requirements, as applicable.
• Administers therapeutic interventions including exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy; completes daily EMR notes.
