Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, modify care plans as needed, and serve as a clinical resource for staff and students. The role qualifies for a sign‑on bonus and requires ensuring safety and quality in patient care within the Fort Lauderdale area.

The position involves designing care plans, educating patients and families, performing examinations, and documenting outcomes to support optimal recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
• Continuing education requirements for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed, using safe body mechanics.
• Treats patients with dignity and respect, staying engaged with those needing services.
• Designs and adjusts a plan of care based on goals, treatment response and evidence.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine PT diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examinations and selects appropriate tests based on history and screening results.
• Documents in the EMR per policy.
• Screens patients to determine therapy needs and effectiveness of services.
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides feedback.
