Job summary

San Antonio West Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to support the licensed Physical Therapist in providing resident-focused care. The role requires precise documentation, infection control, and active participation in care conferences to ensure timely progress and discharge planning.

You’ll educate residents and families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention while assisting with equipment needs and recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Licensed PTA in the state; CE requirements must be met.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures.
• Proficient with data entry in health software.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and infection control.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on home programs.
• Participate in care conferences and rehab meetings as needed.
• Assist in training Restorative Aides and staff.
• Assist with ordering durable medical equipment when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and company information.
