Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, assist customers, and develop a high‑performing team. You will support opening and closing, organize merchandise, and ensure the store looks welcoming and well‑stocked.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to coach store associates. You’ll handle cash deposits, scheduling, loss prevention, and adherence to company policies while upholding a safe, positive environment for customers

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and secure assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff compliance.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
