Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, supervise associates, and help ensure merchandise is properly stocked and presented.

Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, can work in a high-energy retail environment, and are comfortable lifting up to 55 lbs. You will open/close the store, protect assets, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers, address questions and concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain store areas to company standards.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
• Protect and secure store assets.
