Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a DSS Connect Specialist to perform general casework and customer service in an Economic Services inbound call center. You will handle SNAP/TANF inquiries, document cases, and support active beneficiary services.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, safeguarding PII, and assisting with emergency shelter duties as needed. A High School Diploma with four years of related experience or an equivalent degree pathway is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and four (4) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
• Associate Degree and two (2) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher may be substituted for required experience.

Responsibilities

• Answers constituent calls regarding SNAP and TANF benefits in a centralized inbound call center environment.
• Escalates constituent complaints regarding benefit delivery to the appropriate Economic Services Center for review and resolution within required time frames.
