The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a DSS Connect Specialist to handle general casework and customer service in an Economic Services inbound call center. You will answer SNAP/TANF inquiries, document cases in CHIP/SCOSA, and support related operations.

The role emphasizes accurate data handling, protection of PII, and collaboration with state and county staff, including potential emergency shelter duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 4 years of clerical/administrative or related experience.
• Associate degree and 2 years of clerical/administrative or related experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher may substitute for required experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs general casework and customer service duties in an inbound call center.
• Answers SNAP and TANF benefit questions and escalates issues as needed.
• Documents cases and actions in CHIP/SCOSA systems and notifies relevant staff.
• Maintains complaint databases and tracks trends in constituent calls.
• Protects personal identifying information and supports emergency shelter duties as directed.
