Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Direct Support Professional IV-SES at the Austin State Supported Living Center. The role supervises direct care staff, ensures quality care, and may cover for Unit Director in their absence.

Positions may include evening/weekend shifts and potential additional pay at some locations. The DSP IV supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a state-operated facility, emphasizing safety, care, and program

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; two years of related experience preferred.
• Experience supervising staff within caregiving environments is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with individuals, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate direct care staff within the unit.
• Ensure care, training, and support activities are delivered as assigned.
• Plan schedules to ensure adequate coverage and staff/individual ratios.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary living environment for individuals.
• Participate in meetings and committee work as directed by leadership.
• Assist in transporting individuals for scheduled activities and emergencies.
