Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites applications for Direct Support Professional II at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center in Lubbock, TX. This FT role offers morning, evening, and night shifts across multiple homes, with opportunities for additional pay for evenings, nights, and weekends.

As part of a dedicated team, you will provide routine and emergency care, teach life skills, monitor health, document observations, and assist with transport and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to speak and read English.
• Ability to make decisions and use good judgment.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency situation.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may work fixed or rotating shifts.
• Implements habilitation and rehabilitation, behavior management, and treatment programs.
• Teaches life skills such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Participates in the development of the individual’s treatment plan.
• Observes individuals for signs of disease or adverse reactions and reports.
• Assists in transporting individuals for activities and emergencies.
• Administers first aid and attends to healthcare needs under medical supervision.
• Evacuates individuals during drills or emergencies and manages safety.
