Hope Network is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for 2nd shift, full-time (40 hours) in New Baltimore, MI. The DSP will support individuals to build independence and community integration, assisting with daily living, mobility, health, and social activities.

Responsibilities include safety monitoring, crisis prevention, and collaboration with care teams. The role requires empathy, reliability, and good communication, with a commitment to weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid State of Michigan driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid.
• Commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties and performance expectations.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety 24/7 through various check routines.
• Support crisis prevention, intervention and resolution.
• Establish trust and empathy through consistent communication.
• Foster partnerships with individuals served, the community and professionals.
• Help develop problem-solving, communication and independence skills.
• Assist with social and leisure activities and transportation.
• Assist with activities of daily living (getting to places, dressing, bathing, cooking).
• Monitor medical vitals and relay information to care team.
• Attend medical appointments and relay information accurately.
• Understand and implement care plans and document accordingly.
• Connect individuals with community opportunities and relationships.
