Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Cleveland is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare detailed Self-Perform Operations (SPO) drywall estimates from construction drawings and specifications, and to communicate bids and scopes of work to project teams.

The role involves labor productivity analysis, vendor coordination for competitive pricing, developing drywall bids for multiple contract types, and collaborating with Preconstruction to address risks and design issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience performing detailed estimates for drywall and related scopes.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field is a plus or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work and project schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed SPO drywall estimates with quantity take-offs, analysis, input, and studies.
• Generate labor productivity rates using historical data and project constraints.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to solicit competitive pricing.
• Prepare and assemble drywall bids and proposals for Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus contracts.
• Identify design issues and project risks and propose solutions with Preconstruction.
• Analyze SPO drywall project schedules for sequencing risks and create labor-loaded schedules.
