Job summary

McLane is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of a driver role, including distributing products to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations. You will train toward a Class A CDL within six months while starting to earn as you learn.

The program offers a training pay of $22.50/hour and a path to a driver role earning $75,000–$100,000 after training, with Day 1 medical, dental, and vision benefits plus 401(k) and other programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability to load/deliver all products ordered by McLane customers.
• Read, write and understand English to perform tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment and report defects.
• Document delivery receipts and temperatures with the DDH.
• Train with Driver Trainer and learn driving regulations and skills.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product.
• Other duties as assigned.
