Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of distribution and delivery across customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse operations while progressing toward becoming a full McLane Driver.

Starting pay in training is $25.50 per hour with comprehensive benefits from day one, plus holiday, vacation and other programs as you develop your driving skills and CDL credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet eligibility requirements per policy.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.
• Able to perform basic math and read labels/bills of lading.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects and report.
• Document delivery receipts and product temps with DDH.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn driving regulations and procedures.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
