Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including distribution operations and safety procedures. You will gain exposure to warehouse functions while working toward a Class A CDL in six months or less.

During training, you earn $27.75 per hour and, after training, drivers can earn between $75,000 and $115,000 annually. Day 1 benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, and life insurance, plus paid holidays and vacation accrual.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely according to regulations and company policies.
• Inspect equipment and submit inspection reports.
• Use Driver Delivery Handheld to document deliveries and temperatures.
• Train with Driver Trainer to learn driving regulations and maneuvers.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product.
• Other duties as assigned.
