Job summary

McLane is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including distribution to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations as part of the developmental track to becoming a McLane Driver.

You'll train toward a Class A CDL, progress through on‑the‑job learning, and qualify for benefits starting day one, with pay during training and a strong compensation path after certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer and handle loading/unloading.
• English reading/writing fluency required.

Responsibilities

• Learn essential functions of the Driver job including distribution to various customer locations.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and document receipts/temperatures.
• Assist in unloading trailer and delivering product to customer premises.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• Participate in training with Driver Trainer to develop driving skills.
