Job summary

McLane is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of a Driver role, including distribution to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations. You will train toward becoming a fully qualified McLane Driver, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

Starting pay during training is $22.25 per hour, transitioning to $75,000–$100,000 after training. Day-1 benefits, 401(k) matching, and other programs support you from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to obtain Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability to load/unload and deliver all products as ordered.
• Read, write, and understand English to perform tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely per regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and file DOT reports.
• Document deliveries and temperatures using Driver Delivery Handheld.
• Train with Driver Trainer to learn driving regulations and procedures.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations and assist in unloading deliveries.
