Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee drivers at our terminal and distribution center. You will create schedules, monitor routes, and drive safe, compliant operations to meet customer requirements.

Candidates must manage on-call duties and adapt to weekend or holiday coverage. Responsibilities include directing daily activities, coordinating with maintenance, preparing KPI reports, and coaching staff to improve performance while ensuring compliance with DOT

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of distribution, logistics, and/or transportation experience with leadership attributes.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily work direction to professional drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations and to meet customer requirements; maintain daily activity assignments of tractors, trailers, trucks, and drivers.
• Monitor daily activity to adjust load assignments and communicate with members, customers, drivers, dispatch, and DFA locations.
• Maintain up-to-date routes and utilize routing software to increase efficiency, lower costs, and meet customer demands.
• Create employee schedules, approve time, resolve timekeeping issues, monitor overtime, and act to meet goals.
• Ensure daily paperwork is completed for each load including mileage, DOT reports, driver logs, and maintenance activity.
• Prepare and distribute operational reports (KPI’s).
• Establish positive relationships with members/customers to ensure optimal service.
• Hold drivers accountable for professional interactions and service quality; assist in resolving issues.
• Coordinate with fleet maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained.
• Provide training/coaching and conduct driver audits for safety and efficiency.
• Work with HR on driver recruitment and development programs.
• Communicate with supervisors, employees, and customers to improve transportation functions.
• Be available for emergencies or on-call rotation; perform other duties as required.
