Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 to 5 years of distribution, logistics, and/or transportation experience with leadership.
• Class A CDL with endorsements; tanker, doubles/triples, and milk sampler/hauler licenses as required.
• Current medical card and ability to obtain other certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily work direction to professional drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations and to meet customer requirements.
• Monitor daily activity and adjust load assignments; communicate with drivers, dispatch, and locations.
• Maintain routes and use routing software to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Create employee schedules, approve time, resolve timekeeping issues, and monitor overtime.
• Prepare and distribute operational reports (KPIs).
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure optimal service.
• Hold drivers accountable for professional interactions and service.
• Coordinate with fleet maintenance for equipment upkeep.
• Ensure training and performance reviews; safety compliance and coaching.
• Address safety concerns with management; assist HR with recruitment and development.
• Communicate with supervisors and customers to improve transportation functions.
• Be available for emergencies or on-call rotations.
