Job summary

Dairy Challenge is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee drivers at the assigned terminal or distribution center. You will create daily work schedules, assign routes, monitor operations, and ensure safe, timely deliveries that meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of distribution, logistics, and/or transportation experience, including leadership attributes or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily work direction to professional drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations and meet customer requirements; maintain daily activity assignments of tractors, trailers, trucks, and drivers.
• Monitor daily activity to adjust load assignments and communicate with drivers, dispatch, and other locations.
• Maintain up-to-date routes and use routing software to increase efficiency and meet customer demands.
• Create employee schedules, approve time, monitor overtime, and take actions to meet goals.
• Ensure all daily paperwork is completed (mileage, DOT reports, logs, maintenance, billing, delivery tickets).
• Prepare and distribute KPI reports.
• Establish positive relationships with customers to ensure optimal service.
• Hold drivers accountable for professional interactions and service quality.
• Coordinate with fleet maintenance to ensure equipment is well maintained.
• Provide training and coaching to achieve performance and safety goals; conduct safety audits.
• Train and coach drivers on procedures for equipment and operations.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions with safety personnel.
• Collaborate with HR on driver recruitment and development.
• Communicate with supervisors, employees, and customers to improve transportation functions.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotations when needed.
• Other duties as required.
