Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee assigned drivers and related activities at the terminal and/or distribution center. You will create driver schedules, monitor routing and delivery operations, and work with dispatch and customers to meet requirements.

You will promote safety, service quality, and operational excellence while supervising staff, coaching drivers, and coordinating with maintenance and HR to address training and development needs.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• Knowledge of dairy industry practices and DOT regulations.
• Experience supervising drivers and coordinating routes.
• Ability to train and coach drivers and monitor safety and performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily work direction to professional drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations and meet customer requirements.
• Monitor daily activity and adjust load assignments and instructions, communicating with teams and locations.
• Maintain up-to-date routes and use routing software to improve efficiency and cost.
• Create employee schedules, approve time, resolve timekeeping issues, and manage overtime.
• Ensure daily paperwork for loads is complete, including mileage and logs; prepare KPI reports.
• Establish relationships with customers and employees to ensure optimal service.
• Coach drivers on procedures, safety, and performance; supervise training and development.
• Coordinate with fleet maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
• Address investigations and corrective actions for safety concerns with management and safety staff.
• Collaborate with HR on recruitment and employee development programs.
