Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, driver management, fleet operations, logistics, dispatch, operations or related field preferred.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, or people-management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation operations, DOT regulations, and driver compliance preferred.
• Excellent communication, coaching, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor, and support a team of professional drivers.
• Build relationships through consistent communication, engagement, and support.
• Serve as primary point of contact for driver questions, concerns, and performance discussions.
• Foster professionalism, accountability, safety, and exceptional customer service.
• Conduct regular driver meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
• Recognize and celebrate driver achievements, milestones, and outstanding performance.
• Provide guidance to help drivers achieve individual and team goals.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve driver satisfaction, retention, and morale.
• Maintain regular communication with drivers to address concerns and improve experience.
• Partner with recruiting and training to ensure onboarding and long-term success.
• Address employee relations matters professionally and fairly.
• Support programs focused on driver recognition, engagement, and career development.
• Help create a positive, inclusive work environment that encourages long-term commitment.
• Monitor driver productivity, attendance, service quality, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and service standards.
• Collaborate with dispatch, maintenance, safety, and operations to maximize performance.
• Assist with scheduling challenges, route optimization, and service recovery.
• Analyze operational metrics and implement corrective actions.
• Manage day-to-day issues balancing business objectives and employee needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, customer satisfaction, and service delivery.
• Promote and reinforce a strong culture of safety.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and industry standards.
• Investigate incidents and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions.
• Support new driver training and ongoing safety education programs.
• Maintain records related to driver qualifications, safety performance, and compliance.
• Work with safety teams to reduce risk and improve fleet safety performance.
