Job summary

Venture Logistics in Lafayette, IN, seeks a Driver Manager to be the primary liaison between the company and its professional drivers, ensuring efficiency, satisfaction, and policy compliance. You will oversee driver performance, safety, and productivity to support enterprise goals.

Responsibilities include coaching drivers, maintaining weekly load plans, collaborating with planners and CSRs, and upholding DOT regulations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience in transportation or logistics industry.
• Associates or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or Business Administration preferred.
• Experience managing drivers in mid-to-large trucking operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety protocols preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, trust-based relationships with assigned drivers to understand their preferences and goals.
• Monitor and manage driver performance metrics including revenue, miles, MPG, on-time delivery and safety.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback; initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Ensure drivers have clear weekly plans and load assignments to maximize productivity.
• Collaborate with Planners, CSRs, and Load Planners to ensure efficient load assignments and route optimization.
• Proactively communicate delays, detention issues, and potential service failures to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records in fleet systems and ensure DOT compliance.
