Qualifications

Responsibilities

What You'll Do as a Driver Operations Manager:
Driver Leadership & Team Management

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and applicable industry standards.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, customer complaints, and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Support new driver training and ongoing safety education programs.
  • Maintain accurate records related to driver qualifications, safety performance, and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with safety teams to reduce risk and improve overall fleet safety performance.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Maintain accurate driver, operational, and performance records.
  • Track key performance indicators, retention trends, service levels, attendance, and safety metrics.
  • Prepare reports and provide updates to leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support operational goals and workforce planning.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance driver performance, employee engagement, and service quality.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support organizational success.
Qualifications for a Driver Operations Manager:
  • Experience in transportation, driver management, fleet operations, logistics, dispatch, operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or people-management experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of transportation operations, DOT regulations, and driver compliance requirements preferred.
  • Strong communication, coaching, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and make informed business decisions.
