Job summary

Colorado Department of Revenue (DMV) seeks a Driver License Technician Trainee to learn how to issue Colorado documents, assess eligibility, and support customers across offices. You will gain hands-on training in compliance with state statutes and federal laws, with advancement potential after certification.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, validating documents, conducting tests, and handling cash in a high-volume, service-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer service role or college coursework related to administration may substitute for experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to handle high-stress situations.
• Demonstrated ability to follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers as the primary point of contact for driver license and identification services.
• Explain eligibility requirements and assist applicants with documentation.
• Assess documents for authenticity and compliance with state rules.
• Process computer-generated driver licenses, ID cards and hearing requests.
• Administer written and oral testing and evaluate risk and fraud indicators.
• Maintain accurate cash handling and balancing of receipts.
