Job summary

Colorado Department of Revenue's Driver License Division seeks a Driver License Technician Trainee in Canon City, CO. You will learn to issue Colorado documents, assess eligibility, and process tests while working with a team that serves residents across the state.

The role trains on-site with opportunities to advance; you will handle customer interactions, document verification, and cash handling in a high-volume environment. Residency and a valid Colorado driver license are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• College coursework may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers as the primary point of contact.
• Communicate with customers about needs, eligibility, and ensure compliance.
• Assess applicant behavior and source documents; exercise first-line decision-making related to acceptability of source documents, proof of identity, suspected fraud, medical requirements, etc.
• Process computer-generated driver's licenses, identification documents and hearing requests.
• Administer written, oral, automated testing and grade examinations for all license classes and permits.
• Qualify applicants for a driver\'s license and Colorado ID card by determining needs and eligibility.
• Assess authenticity of documentation by comparing applicant statements with available data.
• Collect and account for money received for all documents issued; balance receipts.
