The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a License Examiner II in Greenville to conduct road tests and evaluate applicant readiness for various vehicle classes. You will guide customers through licensing processes, verify documents, and ensure compliance with state regulations, while maintaining safety and efficiency in a dynamic public-service environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to administer and evaluate driver licensing tests.

Responsibilities

• Administers road test examinations for Class A vehicles.
• Administers road test examinations for Class B vehicles.
• Administers road test examinations for Class C vehicles.
• Administers road test examinations for Class D/E vehicles.
• Administers road test examinations for Class F vehicles.
• Administers road test examinations for Class M motorcycles.
• CDL knowledge tests in CDL Office.
• Determines applicant's fitness and competency to safely operate motor vehicles.
• Examines, accepts, prints documents for licenses, permits, registrations and IDs.
• Answers customer inquiries by phone and in person.
• Greets customers and directs them to appropriate offices.
• Collects fees and reconciles daily reports; processes vehicle registrations taxes.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Handles faxes, mail, and errands including bank deposits.
