Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a License Examiner II in Spartanburg to administer road tests and licenses for multiple classes and to assess applicant fitness. You will interact with customers, process documents, and support branch operations with accuracy and courtesy.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid SC driver's license, and the ability to communicate professionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license and at least 21 with one year of driving experience.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and staff.
• Must complete a nationwide background check including fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Administers road tests for classes A, B, C, D, E, F, M and CDL Office.
• Assesses applicant fitness and administers written, oral, and automated exams.
• Prepares and issues licenses, permits, registrations, plates and titles.
• Answer customer inquiries by phone and in person.
• Greets customers and directs them to the correct area.
• Collects fees and maintains daily reports and related documents.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Faxes, mails documents, and runs branch errands.
