Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a License Examiner II to join the Greenville, SC team. You will administer road tests, evaluate applicant fitness, and issue licenses, permits, and registrations across multiple vehicle classes.

Qualifications

A high school diploma and relevant experience.
Must hold a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Must be at least 21 years old with one year of driving experience.

Responsibilities

Administers road test examinations for multiple vehicle classes (A, B, C, D, E, F, M, CDL where applicable).
Determines applicant fitness and competency to operate motor vehicles and conducts written, oral, and automated exams.
Examines, processes, and prints driver licenses, permits, registrations, titles, and related documents.
Answers inquiries about driver, vehicle, and registration requirements in person or by phone.
Greets customers and directs them to appropriate areas within the office.
Collects fees and prepares daily reports; handles donations for the Donate Life Fund.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment and handles mailing/filing tasks as needed.
