Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a License Examiner II in Florence who administers road tests, processes licenses and IDs, and answers questions from customers. The role requires a clean driving record, completion of the background check, and the ability to work outdoors and in a team environment.

Responsibilities include evaluating applicants’ driving skills, conducting exams, and ensuring compliance with state licensing procedures while delivering courteous customer

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant experience.
• Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license and be at least 21 years old with one year driving experience.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include fingerprinting.
• Before being certified to administer CDL knowledge tests must complete a CDL trainer course and examination.

Responsibilities

• Administers road tests and examinations for multiple license classes.
• Examines, processes and issues driver licenses, permits and IDs; prepares related documents.
• Assists customers, answers inquiries, and directs to appropriate office areas.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and supports branch operations.
