Job summary

State of South Carolina's Winnsboro DMV is seeking a License Examiner I to administer road tests and exams for multiple license classes. You will determine applicants' fitness, process documentation, and issue licenses and registrations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, maintaining records, and performing device upkeep. Requires a high school diploma, 21+ years and a valid SC driver’s license, plus background checks and CDL trainer

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant experience.
• Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license and be at least 21 years of age with one year driving experience.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include fingerprinting.
• CDL test examiner trainer course and examination requirements prior to CDL knowledge tests.

Responsibilities

• Administers road tests for multiple vehicle classes (A, B, C, D, E, F, M, CDL Office).
• Determines applicants' fitness and administers written, oral, and automated exams.
• Processes and issues licenses, permits, registrations, plates and titles as needed.
• Answers inquiries from customers by phone or in person; directs customers to appropriate areas.
• Collects fees, reconciles daily reports, and handles related paperwork; maintains records.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and supports branch operations.
