Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Driver Education District Field Supervisor to lead a team of Driver Education Program Specialists and oversee district operations across multiple counties.

You will manage the Basic Driver Education Course, ensure accurate records, and support school districts and driving schools with policy updates and training. This role emphasizes leadership, coordination, and performance management within a public safety framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience.
• CDL license with P (passenger) and S (school bus) endorsements for two years.
• Experience supervising Driver Education staff and coordinating programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 10 to 20 Driver Education Program Specialists within SBTS District.
• Coordinate field operations across 10–25 counties and adjust territories as needed.
• Manage the Basic Driver Education Course: conduct classes, prepare materials, schedule instructors, and record exams.
