Job summary

NCDOT is seeking a Program Coordinator IV to oversee driver education training schools and instructors in the Eastern part of North Carolina. The role involves ensuring compliance with Article 14 of Chapter 20, conducting courses online or in-person, and developing updated curricula as laws change.

The successful candidate will inspect facilities, supervise examinations, investigate complaints, and represent the Division at conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience analyzing and auditing information to inform decisions is preferred.
• Knowledge of non-commercial driver education laws and regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee non-commercial and commercial driver education schools and instructors.
• Develop and update curriculum for driver education courses, including online and in-person formats.
• Teach required courses such as Vision and Medical Screening.
• Conduct inspections of existing and new driver training schools and locations.
• Investigate complaints and represent the Division at meetings and conferences.
