NC Department of Transportation is seeking a Driver Education Program Specialist to train and certify school bus drivers and to oversee training programs in Mecklenburg County and surrounding districts. The role includes classroom instruction, behind‑the‑wheel training, and CDL program compliance.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, maintaining reports, and coordinating with DMV for instructor certification and vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of related experience.
• Governor’s Executive Order 303 supports second‑chance employment; applicants encouraged.
• Complete all questions in the application and provide full education/work history.

Responsabilités

• Train and certify school bus drivers in classroom and behind the wheel.
• Lead driver improvement clinics and vision/medical screenings.
• Certify commercial driver training instructors and inspect CDL schools/vehicles for compliance.
• Investigate complaints involving commercial driver training schools.
• Maintain reports and weekly DMV central office submissions.
