Job summary

Northwest Connecticut Transit District is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee driver scheduling, performance, and daily dispatch operations in West Torrington, CT. You will ensure DOT compliance, supervise staff, and develop safety training while coordinating with drivers, customers, and management.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Must pass DOT drug testing (49 CFR Part 40) and physical.
• Must have S, V, A or F personal passenger endorsement.
• Experience supervising transportation operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Oversee daily scheduling, supervision and performance reports.
• Manage monthly driver schedules and address driver concerns.
• Ensure DOT/FTA compliance including drug testing.
• Conduct on-site accident investigations and prepare reports.
• Develop and deliver driver training and safety courses.
• Monitor driver safety and performance per district policies.
• Assist Executive Director with DOT/FTA compliance.
• Overtime and flexible scheduling as needed.
