Job summary

Nwcttransit is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to manage daily driver scheduling, oversee dispatch operations, and ensure DOT/FTA compliance. You will train drivers, address concerns, and prepare reports for management in a fast-paced transit environment.

Responsibilities include overseeing driver end-to-end duties, evaluating safety and performance, and coordinating with executives on compliance matters. Flexibility for overtime and on-call shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
• Must have S, V, A or F personal passenger endorsement.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Day to day scheduling, supervision and guidance and submitting evaluation reports to management.
• Managing Monthly Drivers’ schedule.
• Managing driver concerns, reports, logging and reporting to Executive Director
• Oversee dispatch daily routine and duties
• Oversee and handle all disability applications
• Oversee and Logging Form 5 recipients
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, and safety violations documents.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses as needed; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents or with recurring violations.
• Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
• Liaison between drivers, customers and the district with customer service concerns.
• Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with district policies and state law.
• Assist The Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director with all DOT/FTA compliances – drug testing.
• Drive routes periodically. Overtime is permitted only when drivers cannot fulfill assignments.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, and overtime as business needs require.
• Must be willing and able to cover shifts on short notice when operational needs arise.
• Driveway checks for ADA and Dial a ride services
• Other duties as required.
