Job summary

Northwestern-Connecticut-Transit-District is seeking a dedicated supervisor to coordinate daily driver scheduling, communicate job requirements, and oversee dispatch activities. You will also supervise staff, prepare evaluation reports, and ensure safety and compliance with district policies.

Responsibilities include DOT/FTA compliance support, driver training, incident investigations, and flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have DOT drug testing experience and be familiar with DOT 49 CFR Part 40.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Day to day scheduling, supervision and guidance and submitting evaluation reports to management.
• Managing Monthly Drivers’ schedule.
• Oversee dispatch daily routine and duties,
• Oversee and handle all disability applications
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, and safety violations documents.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses as needed; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents or with recurring violations.
• Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
• Liaison between both the drivers, customers and the district with customer service concerns.
• Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with district policies and state law.
• Assist The Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director with all DOT/FTA compliances – drug testing.
• Drive routes periodically. Overtime is permitted only when drivers cannot fulfill assignments. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, and overtime as business needs require. Must be willing and able to cover shifts on short notice when operational needs arise.
• Driveway checks for ADA and Dial a ride services
• Other duties as required.
