Job summary

MTM Transit is hiring full-time drivers to join our team in Austin, Texas, in partnership with CapMetro. Start your new career with Monday training classes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 21 years or older with a valid US driver's license for 3 years.
• Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 10 years; driving record restrictions.
• Able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
• Must pass criminal background check including TX DPS MVR.
• Valid authorization to work in the United States; resume with 10 years history.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation to passengers.
• Demonstrate defensive driving skills and strong customer service.
• Assist with passenger loading/unloading and mobility devices as required.
• Ensure on-time pickups and drop-offs for customers.
• Complete vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections and required paperwork.
• Use tablets or electronic devices as needed for operations.

What you'll need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Must possess a continuously valid US driver’s license for 3 years

• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

• No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 10 years

• No more than 1 suspension, moving violation, or citation within the last 3 years – no more than 2 within past 5 years

• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening

• Must pass criminal background check investigationincluding a TX DPS MVR

• Valid authorization to work in the United States

• Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years work history

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronicdevice

• Ability to maintain high level ofconfidentiality

• Ability to communicate with others and comprehendinstructions

• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, andschedules

• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOTregulations

• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the servicearea

What You’ll Do:

• Provide safe and reliabletransportation

• Demonstrateexcellentdefensivedrivingskills

• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and externalstakeholders

• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading fromvehicle

• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safetyprotocols

• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of thecustomer

• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals withdisabilities

• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections asrequired

• Complete paperwork asrequired

• Utilize tablets or electronic devices asrequired
